2 days after I arrived in Japan, was my birthday!

It was nice to have a birthday cake with my family!

ケーキを買ってもらいました。

何年ぶりかに家族と祝えてうれしかったです。

Next day, mum took me to Shizuoka.

I love this place. I love the mountain.

次の日、母が静岡県まで連れてってくれました。

この土地が好きです。山がすき！

The bird show was fantastic!

鳥のショーも素晴らしかった！

7th July, dad participated in the culture exchange programe.

He gave a short presentation about star festival in English with his classmate.

She is a very nice person too.

7月7日は、父の英会話学校の文化交流会でした。

七夕についてクラスメートの方と一緒に英語で説明しました。

彼女もとてもいい人です。

He is my old monk friend. We've known each other for about 17 years.

名古屋で知り合ってもう17年の付き合いのお坊さんと、彼女にも会えました。

It's been 10 years since I went out with my best friend. 

I haven't laughed so hard!

We stayed laughing hard till next morning.

こんなふうに、ゆっくり友人と外出するのは10年ぶり。

こんなに笑ったのはひさしぶり！

朝までこんな調子でした。

めっちゃたのしかった！

 

Finally, visited my grandpa's place.I was emotional because

there is no body there anymore to visit...

It was the shortest visit ever...

I miss you all...

やっと、おじいちゃんのお墓参りにこれました。

でも、もうここには、誰もいなくなってしまったので、とても悲しい。

本当に寂しい。

 

Participated in a few yoga sessions instructed by my cousin.

She is real, and I wish I could take her yoga class in NZ too.

She gave me this special herb drink.

いとこが教えるヨガ教室にも数回お邪魔しました。

彼女は本物。NZでもうけれたらいのに。。。

特別なハーブの飲み物いただきました！

Karaoke with my parents.

My dad has a list of songs and scores of each songs in the past.

両親とカラオケ！

父は、曲名と採点の結果の書かれたリストを持参！

 We sang till 3am:)

朝3時まで歌ってました：）

My friend from Osaka kindly visited me with her son.

We went to Showa village and ochobosan.

Thank you Asan for being a very good friend and understanding me so well.

You care about my family too.

大阪からはるばるお友達が息子といっしょに来てくれました。

昭和村とおちょぼさんにいきました。

いつも、いいお友達でいてくれて、よき理解者でいてくれてありがとう。

私の家族まで大事にしてくれて本当にありがとう。

I also had dinner and ten pin bowling with my old local friends.

They all have kids and family but spared time for me.

It was such a good time and fun.

I also had an opportunity catch up with my old friend that I hadn't seen in 15 years!

He had a lovely wife and we just found out we have a day difference wedding anniversary!

We had amazing time all day.

それから、15年ぶりに同級生に再会しました。奥さんも素敵でした！

まさか、結婚記念日が1日ちがいだなんて驚き。

いろんな偶然が重なり合ったすごく不思議な一日でした。

Receiving Day ~ Full Moon ~

Today was the Queen's Birth Day so we had a long weekend with a beautiful weather!

We went to visit a Hungarian couple and my friend who just gave birth to a second baby boy.

Her mom was visiting her from Japan. I love her parents as they are one of the nicest Japanese I know:)

今日は、エリザベス王妃の誕生の日で休日だったため、3連休でした。

天気もとってもよかったです。

私たちは、ハンガリー人の友達に朝会いに行き、それから、二人目の赤ちゃんを産んだお友達に会いに行って来ました。日本からお母様もお見えになっていました。彼女のご両親は、本当にすてきな日本人です。

We had breakfast at the Hungarian couple and lunch at my friends place:)

ハンガリー人のお宅で朝食を頂き、私のお友達のおうちでは、昼食をご馳走になりました。

本当にごちそうさまでした。

My friend's mom gave me a beautiful maccha (the traditional greentea powder).

I love this particular green tea as it tastes beautiful. 

お友達のお母様がお土産に私の大好きな抹茶をくださいました。

このブランドが一番です：）

This is another traditional sweets to go with the green tea, was originally created 2000 years ago.

This brand is from Nara prefecture.

It resembles sakura, and leaves.

これは、抹茶の茶菓子です。もともとは2000年前に作られたそうです。

奈良県のブランドです。

さくらとはっぱの形です。

This is a beautiful sakura patterned bowl from the same place.

She bought this for me so I can use to make a green tea.

When you make green tea in a bowl, we make a froth with a special blush. 

We had what we call Green Tea Latte that long ago:)

さくらもようのおわんです。奈良で一緒に買ってくださったそうです。

お抹茶用にどうぞということでした。

とっても嬉しい！！

でも、高くて手がでませんでした！

大事に使わせていただきます！

The Hungarian couple that we visited, she was wearing these bracelets and I told her I loved them.

She put them on my wrist and gave them to me:)

ハンガリー人のお友達が3連のかわいいブレスレットつけててかわいいねって言ったら、

私の腕につけてくれてプレゼントしてくれると言ってくれたんです。

ありがとうございます。

This is going to be officially our candles soon.

It is Full-Moon tonight. I do Meditation time to time, especially after my surgery to heal my body quicker.

Now, to do it regularly, I do it on the Full-Moon and New Moon.

I love it. I love this candle very much.

下のろうそくはもうすぐ正式に私たちの商品になります。

今日は満月です。瞑想はときどきしていたけど、術後の回復も兼ねて定期的に行うために

満月と新月の日に、お風呂でろうそくをともしながら瞑想をします。

ほんわりといいにおいに囲まれて幸せです。

I have one more exam to go this week,

Once the packaging arrives, I will make NZ Organic Lip Balms:)

そして、そうすけは、リップクリームの容器を注文してくださいました。

今週、最後の試験があります。

容器が届いたらニュージーランドのオーガニックの蜜蝋をつかったリップクリームを作ります：）

Getting almost there...

Ponyo just had another popo surgery. The would will be healed fully in 6 weeks or so but light daily activities can be done depending on how I feel in 3 days. Last Monday, I had one of the written exam and got a really good mark which I am happy about. Tuesday, we went to sky tower restaurant for farewell. 

This restaurant moves 360degree while eating so I got motion sick!!! A shame!

 Next morning, I had a translation exam, which was quite difficult as the topic was not my specialty. I saw my friend from uni just for a little while. She gave me the facial masks below. I was going to use it after my operation but it's too nice to use:)

 My Sosuke, and his another friend helped me with the logo stamp for my soap. You can't find anyone who would custom made or if there is, it would be hugely expensive. It's made out of silver. He did it for free.
It helps so much. I don't know how to thank everyone involved enough.
I want to get better fully, and devote myself into my own business and pay everyone back.

Thank you everyone who is supporting me and wishing my success... I feel it and I will work on it.
Thank you my friend in Japan who always phones me and checks me out. You are the only person who contact me and be patient with me :)

A Gift Pack

Sosuke ordered new labels. It looks very nice and I love it.
そうすけが、石鹸のラベルを注文してくれました。かわいくて気に入りました。

 Sosuke is putting the labels on each soap. Takes time...

 そうすけは、一個一個ラベルをつけてくれます。時間かかる。。。

 My first gift pack. I hope my friend likes it:)  I think my dog likes it but it's not for you, Sakura.
初めてのギフトパックです。お友達、気に入ってくれるといいなあ。うちのワンちゃんは気に入ってくれたみたいですけど、さくらのじゃないから、ごめんね：）

New Product

Yesterday was our usual Market day.
We've been meeting very nice people via lovely community market.
One of the lovely couples bought a whole batch of 100% olive oil soap.

きのうは、いつものマーケットの日でした。
マーケットを通していい人達に出会えます。
とても仲のよい夫妻が、オリーブオイル100％の石鹸をまとめてブロックで買ってくれました。

I am not advertising but his skin looked like a baby skin.
でも、だんなさまの肌は赤ちゃんのような肌になっていました。

As a soap maker, it is a common sense to care about the environment.
So many of us use palm free, if we do, sustainable palm or use shortening.
石鹸を作るものとして、環境を配慮するのはあたりまえのことです。
多くの手作りの石鹸を作る人は、パーム油を使わない、もしくは、ショートニングまたは、
サステイナブルのものを使います。

As a consumer, we have to know that there are so many things hidden, it's just we don't know...
Palm oil is often used in the food providers for frying chips etc. Chocolates also.
Those would be the biggest palm oil consumers.

消費者として、私たちが気づかないといけないのは、いろんな商品に自分たちの知らないものが潜んでいるということです。パーム油は、お店で、フライドポテトなどをあげるためによく使われています。チョコレートにも。

As of protecting Jungles, animals, environments for a sustainability, I believe that saying no to palm is one step but also just look around you, how about your beautiful jewelries? I have been in the little village in Montana where it used to be a mining town. Trees were cut down and the ugly empty site was left.

ジャングルや、動物たち、そして、環境を維持するために、パームオイルにノーというのはまず、最初の一歩だと思いますが、私たちの身の回りをよく見てください。あなたの素敵なジュエリーはどうなんでしょうか？私は、モンタナにある小さな採鉱があった村にいたことがあります。
木は伐採され、抜け殻の工場が残されていました。

How about cutting the trees down for papers? tissues, toilet papers etc. etc...
紙、ティシュー、トイレットペーパー、などなどのための伐採はどうなんでしょう？

We still need trees for building a nice and solid house and people who work with the trees, they don't waste them.
丈夫で、いい家を建てるには、木材がかかせません。でも、職人は、切った木を無駄に使いません。

Many people are anti-whaling including myself, but did you know it is not just Japan, but also, Norway does whaling too. They just kill them and do nothing with the body.They show off how strong they are, which is their tradition.We are brainwashed somewhere along the way. Of course, the wilderness is so precious and we must protect wild animals facing extinction. But I just don't like the excuses of our modern society that we can kill cows, pigs, deer, or whatever because they are cultivated.

多くの方が、捕鯨に反対です。（私も含めて）でも、捕鯨は、日本だけでなくノルウェーでもされます。彼らの場合、伝統のために、強いということを見せ付けるために、ただたんに、鯨をころします。私たちは、どこかで洗脳されています。もちろん、自然や、絶滅の危機にさらされている野生の動物たちを守るのは当たり前です。でも、私が嫌なのは、現社会の言い訳、牛や、豚などは家畜だから殺して食べてもいいとかっていういいわけです。

What I know is so little and what you believe right might not be right. It is easy to criticize somebody for something.
私は、自分の知っていることはほんの少しで、自分が常識だと思っていたことが間違いかもしれないということがあると思います。そして、誰かを非難したりするのは簡単です。

Anyway, to get to the point, what I am working on is to make a solid bar without palm oil. I have made a trial product using bush bee wax, you can't have more organic than this! I didn't put any essential oils in it because the bee wax smelled beautifully.So this hard bar could be used for lasting body soap. I can't wait till it's cured:)

とにかく、いいたかったことは、パームオイルを使わない石鹸を作っているということです。
ニュージーランドの森で育った鉢の巣から取れた天然のビーワックスです。これ以上天然というものはないでしょう！を使って、石鹸をつくりました。固めの体用の石鹸を作りたかったのです。
香料はなしです。ビーワックスの香りがものすごくよくて、もったいないと思いました。
早く熟成して使えるのが楽しみです。

Tigers and their babies

Have you heard the story of the tiger that they push their cub from the cliff, electing to raise only the ones climb back up. I didn't know it was a Korean Myth. I read the story in the class when I was a kid. You can read the article from http://askakorean.blogspot.co.nz/2011/01/tiger-mothers-are-superior-here-is-why.html. This myth was already introduced in Japan 1318 in one of the oldest Japanese Literature. (Even though they do not mention it was from Korea) We also have a proverb "spare the road and spoil the child".

トラは、赤ちゃんを崖から落として、這い上がってきた子供だけ育てるという話を聞いたことがありますか？知らなかったんですけど、これは、韓国のお話だったみたいですね。私は子供のときに授業でならったんですけど。 http://askakorean.blogspot.co.nz/2011/01/tiger-mothers-are-superior-here-is-why.html.に英文で記事があります。日本では調べてみると古典、1318年太平記でこの話が書かれているようです。（もちろん韓国から伝わったとは書かれていませんが）

My parents had a very poor childhood and had difficult time. They provided me everything I needed, it was rather, over-protected I must say. If I needed to go somewhere, they searched how to get there and took me there. So it was a very big decision for Ponyo to come to live in NZ to be independent away from my family.

私の親は子供時代とても貧しくてかなり苦労をしました。両親は、私に必要なものをすべて与えてくれました。むしろ、過保護といってもいいかもしれません：）どこかに行く用事があれば、下調べをして、そこまで連れて行ってくれました。なので、家族から離れてNZへ独立しに行くのは大きな決断でした。

I thought I was doing quite well until I met Sosuke. He works so hard and do 110% or more. Now, for him, a girl (almost middle aged woman by now:) like me who's been protected by her parents seems lazy or doesn't try her limits. Always give up easily before reaching the limit. ( It is so true. I am so lazy and once I stop making soaps I have had a few days away from making soap.) Then Sosuke kicks my lazy bottom! (not Physically).

NZに戻ってきて、そうすけに出会うまで、けっこう自立できてると思ってたんですが、いつも110%以上全力投球するそうすけには、私みたいな女の子、（もうそろそろ中年ですが）いつも、守られてきた子は、なまかわで、すぐにあきらめる。自分の限界に挑戦しないとうつるようでした。（でも、本当なんですね。石鹸作りも明日作るの繰り返しで、1週間近くつくってなかったり）そうすると、思い腰をそうすけが、なまかわもの、働けとたたいてくれるんです。（肉体的にではありませんよ）カツを入れてくれるといったほうがいいでしょうか。

Yesterday, I went to one of the big market. My problem is that I am so short that I can't set up my gazebo. Sosuke works full time even weekends and he had to set me up at the market then took off to his work...
My Hungarian friends came over to see me because I was thrown into the big market:) It was so lovely to see them and they are my true friends:)

昨日は、大きなマーケットに出店しました。問題は背が低いので、ガゼボをしまえないことでした。そうすけは、7日間ずっと働いているので、でも、仕事の前に出だしだけ、テントを張ったりするのを手伝ってくれました。一人投げ捨てられた気分です。でも、ハンガリー人のお友達が来てくれてお店を見ててくれたりしました。本当に、ほっとします。ありがたいし、こういう心細いときになにげなくいてくれる人って本当の友達だと思いました。

After the market, I managed to put away gazebo by myself, Sosuke on my mind saying just one by one:)
I made it:) He was so proud of the kid who returned safely after being pushed from the cliff and yes, I am feeling that I am doing close to 100% but I can never beat Sosuke.

ガゼボも、そうすけが言ったことを思い出して、ひとつずつたたんでいったら一人で片付けることができました！そうすけは、崖から投げた子が無事帰ってきて嬉しそうでした。今、なんとなく100%に近づけた気がします。そうすけにはかないませんが。

When I got home... I had another touching present left at the door... Other Hungarian friend who works for Honey company dropped me at least 2kg of bee wax... it's absolutely natural. And another Hungarian friend who conquered the cancer, that he had lymphoma when he was 31, did my website and online shop. I am so happy that all of my Hungarian friends are there for me when I need them. I am so thankful.

家に帰ると、玄関先に、心温まるプレゼントがありました。もう一人のハンガリー人のお友達が蜂蜜の会社で働いているのですが、彼が2キロ以上もあるビーワックスを置いてってくれたのです。
そして、もう一人、31歳にして、癌になり、それを克服したハンガリー人の友達は、今日、ウェブサイトとオンラインショップを完成させてくれました。本当にありがたいです。

Sosuke... he always feed me first and him last. I haven't bought clothes for a long time and he bought me. I am going to have another operation soon and so I am looking forward to wearing my new clothes when I go back to Japan in end of June.
そうすけは、いつも、自分より先に私に与えてくれます。。。ここ数年、洋服なんて駆ってなかったけど、また洋服を買ってくれました。もうすぐ、また手術をします。そして、完治したころの6月末に日本に一時帰国します。そのときに着れるのを楽しみにそれまで頑張ります。

Today was a lucky day:)

I always go to a donuts shop in city when I go to uni and buy 2 donuts and hot chocolate.

I just finished a report and I was so sleepy from not having enough sleep.

I bought flat white today.

The shop staff remembers me by now and she gave me a medium size coffee for the same price:)

今日はラッキーデーです。

いつも大学があるときは、ホットチョコドリンク〔ココア）？とドーナッツ二つ買って帰ります。

今日は、レポートの提出だったのと、睡眠不足でかなり眠かったです。

だから、フラットホワイトコーヒーを頼みました。

お店の子は、私のことを覚えていて、今日はサービスでミディアムサイズを普通の料金でくれました：）

Also, Sosuke bought me some nice clothes!

It was a very nice surprise.

He is such a nice husband:)

それから、家に帰るとそうすけが、素敵な洋服を買っていてくれました。

とってもナイスなさプライズでした。
